The Dear Jane Quilt Project
The "Dear Jane" Quilt was created by Jane Stickle in 1863 during the Civil War. This sampler quilt has 169 different 5 inch blocks in the center and 52 triangle sections around the border, totaling 255 individual blocks! Some blocks have 30 to 40 individual pieces to them.
The construction uses different techniques mostly piecing, English paper piecing, and appilque'.
